A Valentine’s Day to Remember
When I visited Tulum for the first time, I fell in love. The colors, the energy, and the overall vibe immediately resonated with my style as a photographer, and I knew I wanted to capture weddings in this beautiful place.
Fast forward to this unforgettable elopement on Valentine’s Day—a day none of us will ever forget. The best man organized everything for the couple: the venue, the florist, the music (including a violinist), and me as photographer. He also found an incredible shaman to lead the ceremony, and she did an amazing job. With just their closest friends, the couple had no idea what to expect.
The setting was perfect. We were all barefoot, with a dress code that embodied the Tulum vibe—linen, light earthy tones, and an effortless, natural style. The couple asked their friends to be fully present and not record the ceremony, which allowed everyone to truly immerse themselves in the moment.
One of the most memorable and fun moments happened when the groom insisted I take part in the bouquet toss. Even though I was the photographer, he persuaded me to join, and to everyone’s surprise—including mine—I caught the bouquet!
Capturing this elopement was an absolute blessing, and the experience solidified my decision to photograph more weddings in Tulum. There’s something about this place that feels magical, and I’m so grateful to be part of such special moments here.
Full moon, the turquoise water shimmered and soft sand cushioned our feet. Birds flew overhead, the wind was gentle, and the temperature was perfect—it felt like nature itself was blessing the day.
The ceremony began with the shaman cleansing everyone’s energy. She then helped the couple balance their feminine and masculine energies using crystals. They read their vows, received blessings from their friends with rose petals, and exchanged rings.
It was intimate, spiritual, and so deeply meaningful.
